A Butterfly

A BUTTERFLY

As a caterpillar,
I tried to help her
Grow.
Into her cacoon at her
Time she went,
Where I could not
Reach without killing.
A butterfly she emerged,
Free to fly.
Fly she did,
Straight to a bright
New flower.
A flower full of sweet
Necter,
Forever leaving the
Tree that had nourished
Her.
To trade a tree of strengh,
For a flower that will
Wilt and die at the end
Of spring.
So will the butterfly
Die,
Eaten by the birds of
Life.
