The Emptiness

THE EMPTINESS

Empty,
A house,
Then a home,
Now a house again.
Empty,
The chairs where she
Sat.
Empty,
The bed where we slept,
And loved.
Empty,
The driveway where her
Car comes no more.
All empty,
Lifeless,
Uncaring.
Quite,
Oh so quite,
Not a sound of love
Anywhere.
Only dead emptiness
Everywhere,
Cold,
Staring,
Haunting.
