High beams

Have always wondered just which idiot put the high beams switch on the steering column. I spent many years driving on narrow mountain roads wishing I still had the old foot button on the floor so I wouldn’t have remove my left hand from the steering wheel. Who thought this idea was a safer way to drive? They told us in high school driving class to keep our hands at 10 and 2 o’clock, guess the designers of the column high beam switch didn’t go to school when I did back in the 60s. I would think that the insurance companies would have forced the auto makers to return to the foot switch for safety reasons, wonder why they haven’t?

  1. What gets me is this overly controlled, funded, and uneducated cult that is hosting the high beam research website! Highbeam.com. Fraudulent! Side note.

    • What does this have to do with the highbeams switch I was talking about?

  2. Sorry it was a reaction to the word highbeam, I thought I’d share that they’re a fraudulent source if you’re ever doing research and come across their top ranking site and superior SEO. I didn’t mean to detract from your post.
