Dansideas's Blog

Where to begin? Born, no cut out, kicking and screaming until I was drugged enough to be quite. Thus begins the life and times of me, Charles Daniel Ransom. Arrived here near the end of the first half  of the last century, that being a clue to my age.  A list of the things I have done and seen, well here are a few, Navy, Viet Nam, married, divorced, artist, poet, gold miner, laser application engineer, photographer,  foundry man, hippy and many other things, but not worth listing.  Born and raised in southern California, now living  in southwest Oregon and still looking for gold.

Here in this blog I hope to share the ideas I have had, like the different certificates listed, made in 1990. My poems, most of which were written in the late 1970’s, but go all the way into the 1990’s. My philosophy of life and the world in general will unfold as time goes by and they will not be gentle statements.  I am by nature a gentle person, but I like very little about mankind and the world we live in and have opinions about all of it.

  1. Hi Dan,

I just read Into Madness, then read in About You that it was written earlier in your life (I think.)
I can relate to the power of that emotion, but having also been born near last mid-century, 1952, I am very grateful to have lived long enough to have more of an overview now than I did when I was younger. Powerful poetry. I will read more.
