Time To Close

TIME TO CLOSE

Now it is time to close.
Having tried to shed
This hurt,
Like an animal
I would choose to go off
And die alone,
Unseen.
But alas,
I am human,
Not an animal,
Life must go on.
Somtime,
Somewhere,
I will heal these wounds.
With help I hope,
But alone if I must.
So,
Farewell till better
Times.
Deborah,
If the times ever comes
That you need me,
I will be here.
Remember,
I LOVE YOU AND ALWAYS
WILL!

I Can Only Hope

I CAN ONLY HOPE

Standing at the window
In the door,
Seening only the dark
Grays of a cold night,
Knowing that the house
Behind me is empty,
Feeling the loneliness
Still of your leaving,
I can hope for a return
Of the joys of love and
Fullness.

Hot Summers Night

HOT SUMMERS NIGHT

Alone on a hot summers
Night.
Sweat creeping out of
My pores.
Dripping and mingling
With the tears.
Taking cold showers
Cool off.
Just writing poetry
Of my heart.
Alone on a hot summers
Night.

Graduation Thoughts

GRADUATION THOUGHTS

Tonight I watched a
Highschool graduation.
Something my wife and I
Missed when we were
Younger.
The real shame is that
It would have broken
My wife’s heart,
For this is something
she always wanted for
Herself.
Like the big wedding
We didn’t have.
She cried at a friends
Weeding,
Wishing it had been
Hers.
These things do not
Mean much to me,
We were legally married
And that’s all that
Counted to me.
I needed nothing more
Than her.
This graduation I
Went too was her
Brothers,
I went with her family
To share this big
Event.
My wife,
Having left me,
Was not around to
Share her family’s joy.
Soon the day will come
When our divorce is
Final,
And her family will no
Longer be mine also.
This is something I
Don’t want to happen,
But times have changed
Her.
Now she doesn’t want me,
Anymore.

Alone I Sit

ALONE I SIT

As time draws near
For the big event.
The family starts
Its chaotic mess.
Their hours seem
Like minutes,
Minutes like seconds.
Like chickens without
Heads they run.
Small panics pulling
Them every which way.
And yet,
I feel no rush in
This action,
For my world is still
In its own mess.
Tomorrow I will see
My other family.
The one I am going
To lose very soon.
A loss I’m very sad about.
But life being what it is,
That’s the way it will be.
I will see my nephew
And brother-in-law
Graduate tomorrow,
Unless my wife is there.
For if she is there,
I cannot go.
My tears of loss
Would not mix with
The happiness of her
Family’s joy.
So alone I sit,
Away from it all,
Lost in my own
Sadness and tears.
For there is no joy
Anywhere in my heart.

The “I” Feelings

THE”I” FEELINGS

Inchoate feelings,
Incarnadining,
Incensed,
Incongruous us.
I’m ineluctable,
Wishing to ingratiate,
You intransigent,
Now inuring.
And if you do not
Understand,
Use a dictionary.
I did!

Like A Child

LIKE A CHILD

Even here away from
Hell she has managed
To slip her tendrils.
As an octopus has arms
To reach in all directions,
Even she can do the same.
There is no malice in her
Heart,
These things are not done
To hurt.
But like a child,
She leaves her mark
On everything she touches.
A sweet touch,
A fragrance of beauty,
Like a goddess,
Unable to do anything else.
Being but a mortal man
With sight,
All her traces stand out,
Scream out to me.
I cannot help but see
Her in everything.
Having once tasted her
Sweetness,
It will be forever in my
Being,
Never to be forgotten.
Now I must suffer,
Forever seeking her again.
For only then will my life
Become complete once more.

The World Of Old

THE WORLD OF OLD

Though the world is
Shrouded in mystery,
Your love can set it free.
Oh how nice to sit here
And write poetry,
If only you were here
To share it with me.
The world of old is
Dead and gone,
But still it haunts me
From beyond.
Into the waters of
Memory I now dive,
Only to come up with
Nothing alive.
Tis a shame it had to
End this way,
Maybe we can find it
Again someday.
Many are the things I
Have wanted to say,
I hope I can say them
All before the end of
My day.

To Save Yourself

TO SAVE YOURSELF

Deborah,
I know you think you
Have done the right
Thing.
But to save yourself,
You have destoryed me.
Maybe it’s true that I
Let this happen to myself.
Whatever the reason,
We got into this mess
Together.
It seems only fair that
We get out together.
Don’t leave me alone
Just yet,
I am not ready.

This World

THIS WORLD

Passing on to new and
Unwanted things.
Changes,
Always changes,
You said were good.
But these changes I
Do not want.
Someone else can have
Them,
I’d gladly give them
Away.
Let me return to the
Old places,
Places of not great
Comfort,
But a world I know.
With the woman I love
This world I would
Rearrange.
For I know it can be
Different and better.
If only you would
Come home and try.
