A YEAR LONG ROMANCE

The days are long and lonely.
The nights are cold,
Bitterly cold and clear.
Stars shine forth from the
So black night sky.
Thoughts of the mind act
Like stars of the night.
Shinning clear,
Hard and so cold.
The heart is like the frost
Of morning.
Frozen and deadly white,
Like the Winter.
Where once was the warmth
Of Spring,
The heat of Summer has
Burned away the life.
What did surive,
Fell with the Fall.
Now all thats left is the
Frozen heart of Winter.
Dead,
White and cold.

Cry 88

CRY 88

Through loss I learn
And grow.
Lessons always too late.
Once where chances to
Share love and joy.
Scarred and hardened
Hearts do not let in
Such things.
Such hearts only create
More of what they lack.
I cry for the loss of
What could not have been.

Power Of Words

POWER OF WORDS

You say you have never
Been in a relationship
For more than a year.

You do not believe you
Can handle any more
Than that.

So let it be believed.
So shall it be done.
So was it done.

Unspoken

UNSPOKEN

Words yet unspoken
Wait there turn to be.
When will they go
Forth to be heard?
Never I fear will
They be.
For who is there
To hear?

Joy?

JOY?

Do I chose this
Life?
If so, why?
What joy is there
In it?

Conditions

CONDITIONS

What do I miss about
You that makes me
Feel so?
Words spoken were
Not real.
Double meanings always
Spoken when truth
Was wanted.
Dare I trust anything
Now said?
If actions speak
Louder than words,
Then I trust no more.
Love?
Shown but not
Freely given.
Conditions must be
Met first.
Do I now want such
As I had?
The heart says yes.
The mind in not but
Turmoil.
No answer comes forth
Freely.

Again

AGAIN

Again I wander the
Plains of confusion.
Home that I know
So well.
How long will I be
Here this time around?
Can one ever be
Free of it?

Chaotic Profusion

CHAOTIC PROFUSION

Words and more words.
Words forming a
Multitude of sounds.
Spinning in chaotic
Profusion.
Producing nothing.

Wedding Band

WEDDING BAND

Shinny new golden band.
Bright and bold upon the
Hand which wore it.
Big so the world could
See what it ment.
With time it became pitted
And scratched.
The patina of love and use.
An even dulling of the
Luster it once had.
Like love it once
Represented it became.
I feel it still upon the
Finger where it is no
Longer worn.
Now as then I try to
Turn and play with the
Golden band I was so
Proud of.
Such an empty feeling
To know it is no longer
There,
Just as our love is no
Longer there.
It also grew dull and
Pitted with time and use.
Neither was ever polished
So they would continue to
Shine with love and care.
The ring is gone,
The love is gone.

New Years Eve 1988

NEW YEARS EVE 1988

So ends the year of 1988.
Lost in sorrow and grief.
Alone am I to ponder the
The works of the year.
A year of double messages
Where yes ment no and no
Ment yes.
Was I to know the truth
Of words by divine wisdom?
I gave my soul but not my
Heart it seems.
On and on go the years to
Some unknown end and time.
Some have been good,
Some have been bad as this
One has been.
Some have been indifferent.
1987 was a very good year.
We met and loved for a time.
A love too quick and too
Deep for a real understanding.
And so on go these thoughts
Through this last night of
This ending year.
